WinFS is back?

Skeptics called the next-generation Windows File System (WinFS), nothing more than vaporware after a capricious Redmond decided to rip it from Longhorn (now, Windows Vista). But it seems the company has no intentions of giving up, reports Microsoft-Watch.com. In fact, there are plans to backport the file system into Windows XP.

The WinFS Team Blog, however, doesn't look very promising.
