About our Talks

Our IRC Talks are held once a week (often at weekends) at 10:30PM IST (+5:30 GMT). The talks, given by a person well-versed in the topic of the talk, is a pre-prepared session where the person gives an uninterrupted talk on the subject, like a live online lecture.

Framework and Rules

The talk happens in the #sig9-talk channel. During the talk, channel operators will frown upon members directly asking questions in the channel. Rather, members post questions to the #sig9 channel, and the topic presenter chooses questions which he finds insightful and answers them during the course of the talk. Unanswered questions, and logs of both the #sig9 and the #sig9-talk channel will be available as a permanant archive in irc/<topic-name>, where the presenter will also be available for further clarification.

Be polite and poised in the channel. Do not spam. Voice your questions as clearly as possible.
